The Mindray Medical TEX20 Ultrasound Machines Provide advanced diagnostic imaging, which can lead to early diagnosis and more positive health outcomes. For example, helping patients with cancer receive more accurate imaging or diagnosing treatment side effects sooner, including cardio myopathy skin infection. In addition, ultrasound imaging reduces the exposure to x-rays or CT radiation, as well as decreases wait times for results and input from imaging specialists. In addition, it allows for more efficient administering of medicine and care such as antibiotics or life-saving treatments sooner, including canular access (IV treatments) in vulnerable patient groups, particularly children and the elderly.

•             Fast tracking canular access so that life-saving medicine can be administered sooner. For example, providing care for patients with difficult canulation who would otherwise have to travel due to the complexity of their health conditions and current IV access. Saving time when every moment counts!

•             Reducing pain and distress, particularly in vulnerable patient groups where accessing a vein can be difficult e.g. the elderly, children and those with complex conditions.

•             Enabling advanced imaging at the bedside, improving comfort and saving time, by helping to avoid unnecessary interdepartmental transfers of critically unstable patients. Can also be transported where needed (instead of moving the patients, moving the machine where it is needed).

•             Improving access to care for patients and helping reduce stress of caregivers by providing point of care imaging that can be sent through to specialist centres, even making them available for review in real time during an urgent, health crisis.

Justine Dwyer, Operations Manager of Shellharbour Hospital says, 'This enhanced ultrasound machine will be instrumental in enabling our medical professionals to more quickly and accurately diagnose and treat conditions such as internal bleeding, organ damage, and other life-threatening conditions. The rapid and precise diagnostic capability of an Ultrasound is crucial when every second counts."
