Bluescope supports Convoy again in 2019

Bluescope have been generous supporters of the i98FM Illawarra COnvoy for many years. In 2019 Bluescope have sponsored the full entertainment program for Convoy’s free family fun day allowingts like Hoodoo Gurus, The Veronicas and Jayne Denham to the event. “Sponsoring of the entertainment program has been an amazing contribution to the event” says Convoy manager Mark Rigby. “In previous years when this was not sponsored, we had to reach out to artists to donate their services, which often meant we did not have artists lock in to perform until days before the event”

In addition to the entertainment sponsorship, to celebrate Convoy’s 15 year anniversary Bluescope have also erected a giant Convoy flag at the Northgate entrance to the steelworks, and painted all fencing along Springhill Rd in Convoys event colour for 2019, bright yellow. “Already we have had feedback from many drivers in the trucking industry that have noticed the new fence colour, and its got the trucking industry talking” said Marty Haynes, Convoy founder.

This year Bluescope have also purchased 3000 Convoy event shirts, the largest single purchase of Convoy shirts ever recorded from one company. These will be distributed to all Bluescope staff and contractors to wear on Convoy day, providing even more visual support and presence to the event “We cant thank Bluescope enough for their contribution to Convoy, allowing us to secure world class entertainment to the event and assisting us by promoting our event.”
